Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about the upcoming update of the transit system, NCTS release 6.
What is the Go-live date for NCTS 6?
16 November.
Will there be a transition phase where i can continue to discharge transit movements in NCTS 5 after 16 November 2025?
In Sweden, NCTS 6 will go live on 16 November. From this date, transit declarations will only be processed in NCTS 6.
From what date will it be possible to submit in the business environment?
It opens on 16 August.
What national rules applies to Sweden as an opt-out country? Our understanding of the specifications is that each country may apply the rules in different ways.
We do not plan to introduce any national rules.
As an opt-out country, it is only possible to submit security codes 0 and 2. Will there be any other changes to the messages?
Please refer to DDNTA and rfc list 42. There will also be xsd modifications in the future.
Do the same conditions apply for Active border transport in NCTS 5 and 6? Or do they differ and, if so, how? In NCTS 5, we did not specify in 1908 if the transit movement remained in the EU. The information in NCTS 5 are marked as optional in DDNTA Q2. However, in DDNTA Q2 for NCTS 6, they are marked as Required?
No, the conditions in NCTS 6 correspond to those in NCTS 5. The information may be omitted in NCTS 6 for transit within the EU, unless the transit is combined with exit summary declaration information (security set to “2”).
IE117 – When should this message be sent, and under what circumstances?
Swedish Customs has decided, at least initially and until further notice, not to implement messages IE117 and IE058 on our external domain. We will therefore not require operators to submit these messages.
Are there any training materials for NCTS 6?
Yes, the European Commission has published training materials.
