Terms and responsibilities in the new import procedure
Here you can read about the different terms used in the new import process and how responsibilities are allocated within the procedure.
Declarant in the presentation notification
Pre-lodged customs declaration
The declarant in the presentation notification is the person presenting the goods when there is a pre-lodged import declaration. In the case of centralised centralised customs clearance (import), the declarant in the presentation notification should be the same as in the pre-lodged customs declaration.
Entry in the declarant's records (EIR authorisation required)
When an EIR authorisation is used for imports, the declarant in the notification must be the same person as the person in whose records the customs declaration data is entered.
Declarant in the customs declaration
The declarant in the customs declaration is the person who lodges a customs declaration in their own name or the person in whose name such a declaration is lodged.
Warehouse
The warehouse keeper who stores the goods in, for example, a temporary storage facility or a customs warehouse can receive information from Swedish Customs that the goods have been released and can be released from the warehouse.
Customs identity
The customs identity is a reference number used for customs declarations that are not yet approved. It consists of a combination of alphanumerical characters that uses the same structure as an MRN. The customs identity then becomes the MRN when the customs declaration is accepted.
