Procedure for pre-lodged TSD for air consignments

When goods are introduced from third countries you should lodge a presentation notification with Swedish Customs. The goods should be covered by a temporary storage declaration at the time of giving notification.

The image below shows the procedure when a Temporary Storage Declaration (TSD) for air consignments is pre-lodged. Under the image, you can read descriptions of what happens in each step.

A TSD is filed. This can be done as early as 30 days in advance, but no later than the arrival of the goods.

Swedish Customs receives the declaration. The declaration is assigned an MRN and the status is changed to ‘Lodged – Not presented’.

When the goods arrive, the declaration is activated by the person presenting the goods to customs.

The goods are now in temporary storage and under the responsibility of the holder of the authorisation, which includes the record-keeping obligation.

Swedish Customs validates the information and sends a confirmation of receipt to the person presenting the goods. The declaration is now assigned the status ‘Lodged – Presented’.

Swedish Customs notifies the declarant that the goods have been presented on arrival.

The declarant receives the message ‘Lodged - Presented’. The goods may now be unloaded from the means of transport and moved to an approved location as specified in the declaration.

Swedish Customs sends a notification of which goods have been presented on arrival to authorisation holders who have chosen to subscribe to the notification.

The holder of the authorisation receives a message from Swedish Customs with information about what goods are presented on arrival. The time limit for temporary storage begins.

Swedish Customs verifies and validates the content of the Temporary Storage Declaration (TSD).

Swedish Customs notifies the declarant that the declaration has been completed and approved. The declaration is assigned ‘Lodged – Approved’ status.

The declarant receives information that the declaration has been completed and approved and that the declaration has been given the status 'Completed – approved'.
