Tariff File Distribution (TF)
Taric is updated each night with information from the European Commission in Brussels. As a subscriber, you can download the changes via the internet and in this way always keep your own system up to date.
Advantages of Tariff File Distribution
Daily update files of the Tariff that are distributed enable businesses to keep their own systems up to date with current data for validation and calculation. This is likely to lead to higher quality declarations.
Historical data allows customs representatives and companies to retrieve correct information in cases such as reassessment of customs duties, without having to contact Swedish Customs.
Future data, such as new quotas and anti-dumping duties, will give your company opportunities to plan your import and export operations. You can find the files at https://distr.tullverket.se/tulltaxan
There is a subscription service available in Swedish only, but it is also useful for English-speaking users. If you will be using the files and would like ongoing information about the service, e.g. changes, operational issues, etc., and access to operational status information, you can subscribe via the page “Subscribe to IT operational information - Prenumerera på it-drifinformation". Choose "Driftinformation Tulltaxan".
Commodity codes in Spreadsheet
You may not need all the information in the Tariff. In that case, an alternative to the Tariff file distribution may be to download Taric as a spreadsheet, containing, among other things, all commodity codes and commodity descriptions.
You can find the option to download the Taric in Excel via the Tariff, under the menu More information – External Links. The document is available under the link “Spreadsheet commodity codes”.

How to get started with the Tariff file distribution
As a user of the Tariff file distribution, you can download extracts yourself via the HTTPS service and thereby keep your own data system up to date for, for example, different types of validations and for retrieving code descriptions.
The service is free of charge and works, in short, by connecting to Swedish Customs’ HTTPS server, which contains XML files with data from the Tariff. The HTTPS server provides full files containing all data, as well as daily diff files (incremental files) that only contain the changes compared to the previous update. You start by downloading the full files first, and then the daily diff files. If you do not need daily updates, the full files can be used as a one-time import into your system.
The files are PGP-encrypted and ZIP-compressed and are provided in XML format.
What you need to develop yourself is an automation for downloading the files via HTTPS, unpacking them via ZIP, and decrypting them via PGP, as well as interpreting the content of the files and extracting the data you are interested in into your own system. Swedish Customs does not provide support beyond making these files available. In case of any errors in the files, a restart using the latest full file is recommended.
