Procedure for holders of a temporary storage authorisation

When goods are introduced from third countries you should lodge a presentation notification with Swedish Customs. The goods should be covered by a Temporary Storage Declaration (TSD) at the time of giving notification.

The image below illustrates the steps of the procedure for holders of a temporary storage authorisation. Under the image, you can read descriptions of what happens in each step.

The declarant files a TSD no later than at the time of arrival.

Swedish Customs receives the declaration and validates the content. The declaration is assigned an MRN.

Swedish Customs notifies the holder of the authorisation of the goods that have been presented and that temporary storage has started.

The 90 day countdown begins.

The holder of the authorisation receives a message from Swedish Customs with information about what goods are presented.

Swedish customs processes the Temporary Storage Declaration (TSD) and carries out any necessary checks.

Swedish Customs informs the declarant and the holder of the authorisation that the declaration is approved. The declaration is assigned ‘Lodged – Approved’ status.

The declarant is informed that the TSD is approved and that the declaration has been given the status ‘Lodged – Approved’.

The holder of the authorisation is informed that the TSD is approved and that the declaration has been given the status ‘Lodged – Approved’. Only now can the goods be placed under other customs procedures to end temporary storage.

If discrepancies are detected, either when the goods are inventoried or during the actual storage, the authorisation holder must submit a discrepancy report to notify customs of the discrepancies. It is now possible to move goods using the same authorisation.

A declaration or notification is made by a declarant to place goods under another stage of the customs procedure, such as customs procedures (import, customs warehouse, transit, etc.) or re-export.

Swedish Customs receives the declaration or notification and processes the transaction.

When the transaction has been processed, Swedish Customs will issue an approval for removal to the holder of the authorisation.

The holder of authorisation receives an approval for removal and may release the goods. The temporary storage procedure ends.
