If you are dissatisfied with Swedish Customs decision

You can apply to have Swedish Cusoms' decision amended or appeal it if you are dissatisfied with the decision.

Requesting an amendment of decision made by Swedish Customs

If you are dissatisfied with Swedish Customs' decision, you can request that the decision be amended and that customs duties and value added tax be refunded or waived – if you have paid the customs bill, you should request a refund; if you have not paid, you should request a waiver. If you want to change information in a customs declaration or supplement your case in some other way, it is usually easier to request this than to appeal the decision.

If you have requested an amendment and Swedish Customs has not amended the decision in the manner you requested, you may appeal the decision.

Lodge a new application

If your application for an authorisation, BOI, registration etc. was rejected, you may submit a new application with any missing or additional information necessary to meet the criteria for the authorisation.

Appealing a decision by Swedish Customs

If you do not wish to add supplementary information or lodge a new application, and believe that Swedish Customs has made an error based on the information provided, you should appeal the decision.

The customs invoice must still be paid

Please note that the customs invoice must be paid even if you request a change or appeal the decision, if the decision means that you have to pay customs duty or value added tax. The due date stated on the customs invoice still applies. The amount will be refunded if the decision is changed and you are entitled to a refund.

If you appeal, you may, under certain conditions, defer payment until your case has been decided.

Swedish Customs cannot repay the transport undertaking´s fee
