EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus
The EU has decided on wide-ranging sanctions against Russia, Belarus, and certain areas of Ukraine. In 2014, the EU imposed the first sanctions on Russia. Sanctions have since been significantly increased and intensified in the context of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
