Change of declarant in an import declaration

In some cases, it is possible to change the declarant in import declarations.

A change of declarant in the import declaration is made as a request for amendment using the IMDC message. No new customs declaration (IMDS message) should be submitted when requesting to amend a customs declaration.

Change of declarant in cleared DNU, DNK, TNU and TQN in the old import system

If you are a representative and have submitted an import declaration with the wrong declarant, you must submit a new declaration in the new system (Tess). You submit an IMDP without requesting customs clearance. Submit the incorrect declaration in TDS as a re-examination (OMP) where you refer to the new declaration in Tess (IMDP) in the box for special information (data element 44) by entering the new LRN number.
