Weapons

Swedish Customs will control weapons and weapon parts that are imported to or exported from Sweden. The procedure depends on whether you are trading with EU Member States or third countries.

When bringing weapons to Sweden you should inform Swedish Customs within 24 hours before the weapons cross the border. This may be done using the form Details of importation or exportation of firearms and ammunition for a purpose other than temporary hunting or competition. Please send the form to the duty officer by email. You may choose to send the form to Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö, depending on which city is closest to your border crossing.

When moving weapons to or from an EU Member State, please present the original form to Swedish Customs when crossing the border.
