Check-list for declaring in the new export system

On this page we have compiled some tips that may be useful when declaring in the new export system.

Have you transitioned to the new export system? Follow the steps below to ensure that you declare correctly.

Check-list

1. Follow the declaration guide

Follow the declaration guide for your type of declaration.

Remember that there are transitional rules in place that you must consider until 14 December 2025. This information can be found in the declaration guide.

2. Await the Release for export (IE529) message

In order not to delay your case, it is important that you wait for the Release for export (IE529) message before sending the Arrival at exit (IE507) message.

Have you received an MRN in return (IE528) but have not received the release for export notification (IE529)? This means that the case has been moved to manual processing by Swedish Customs. Wait for a message about possible control or release.

You can also go to the online service ‘Customs declaration, export’ to see the status of your case. In the case list you will find the case with its main status, and if you open the case by clicking on the row, you will also see the it sub-status. If the case has been moved to manual processing, it says ‘Accepted - Under control’.

If you need to supplement the case with supporting documents, you can do so in the online service ‘Upload documents’.

3. Have you received an error message?

Have you received an error message even though you followed the declaration guide? Check the Troubleshooting section below for tips on how to interpret the error message.

Troubleshooting

If you get an error message after submitting a declaration, here are some tips.

Always start by ensuring that you have followed the declaration guide. If you have followed the declaration guide, but still get an error message, you can get help interpreting the error message using the example below.

Here you can find an example of what an error message may look like:

<errorPointer>/CC515C/GoodsShipment/Consignment/TransportDocument[1] </errorPointer>

<errorCode>50</errorCode>

<errorReason>E1301</errorReason>

</FunctionalError>

<FunctionalError>

Interpret the message as follows:

<errorPointer> describes the message and the data element concerned (message /CC515C/ and data element /GoodsShipment/Consignment/TransportDocument[1]).

Refer to the declaration guide to see if you have entered the wrong information in the relevant data element.

<errorCode> describes the functional error code (50).

An explanation of these error codes can be found in the table below.

Functional error codes

<errorReason> can mean several things.

De som börjar med

The following codes are from the European Commission’s materials:

  • E/B = Transitional rules. The easiest way to determine if you have missed or misinterpreted a transitional rule is by consulting the declaration guide with regard to the data element indicated by the errorPointer (see above).
  • R = Rule
  • C = Condition.

The material from the European Commission is difficult to interpret. Therefore, when receiving an errorReason beginning with E, B, R or C, we recommend

  • consulting <errorPointer> to identify the relevant message and data element (see above)
  • consulting the declaration guide to identify how to complete this data element.
