Procedure for presentation notification of goods and temporary storage declarations

When goods are introduced from third countries you should lodge a presentation notification with Swedish Customs. The goods should be covered by a temporary storage declaration at the time of giving notification.

1. Temporary storage declaration

The declarant in the temporary storage declaration should draw a declaration and submit it digitally to Swedish Customs. The temporary storage declaration can be lodged up to 30 days before the goods arrive. Until a system solution has been obtained, air traffic operators will submit this information by email.

A declarant may also hire an agent, who will handle their communications with Swedish Customs. The agent acts on behalf of the declarant.

2. Receiving the temporary storage declaration

Swedish Customs receives the temporary storage declaration.

3. Presentation notification for goods

When goods arrive to Sweden from a third country you should lodge a presentation notification with Swedish Customs. The person lodging the presentation notification should submit the notification digitally to Swedish Customs. This is a completely new information submission procedure, using an new channel according to a new specification.

A declarant may also hire an agent, who will handle their communications with Swedish Customs. The agent acts on behalf of the declarant.

4. Receiving the presentation notification

Swedish Customs receives the notification and verifies that the information is correctly entered.

  • In the event of errors, the notification will be stopped. A message will be sent to inform the information provider that the notification cannot be processed.
  • If the information is correct, a message will be sent to the information provider to inform the information provider that the declaration has been received.

In the next step, the system will cross-check the information against applicable authorisations.

  • If there are any errors in this information, a message will be sent to inform the information provider of the errors (received with errors). The information provider will be given an opportunity to amend the errors and re-submit the notification.
