Standard customs declarations for exportation with simultaneous declaration of the goods (UGE)

The most common way to declare goods for exportation is by using a standard customs declaration while simultaneously presenting the goods for exportation from an approved site.

Approved places for export

The benefit of using an approved site is that you do not need to travel to a customs office to declare your goods for exportation. Instead, you can report the goods for exportation (request customs clearance) from the site where you load your goods, provided that the site has been approved.

You need a location of goods code to present the goods for exportation.

Submitting your declaration

As you initiate your export from an approved site, you should submit a standard customs declaration using the digital message UGE. Enter the locations of goods code for the approved site at which you intend to load the goods for exportation.

By entering the location of goods code in the declaration, you also present your goods for exportation from the approved site.

Once you have received an approval from Swedish Customs via the response message (ZEM), the goods have been released for exportation and may leave the loading site.

When Swedish Customs has approved the declaration and released your goods for exportation, you will also be provided a Master Reference Number (MRN).

Export Accompanying Document

You will also need an Export Accompanying Document containing the MRN and indicating that Swedish Customs has approved the customs declaration and released the goods for exportation. Print the document once Swedish Customs has approved and cleared your customs declaration. The Export Accompanying Document should then be presented at the exit customs office from which the goods exit the customs area of the EU.

Proof of clearance for export

If you are exporting directly from Sweden to a third country, i.e. the exit customs office is in Sweden, you may generate your proof of customs clearance electronically. This is done by entering a place of loading code in your customs declaration. When you send the declaration in a UGE message with a place of loading code, a message containing proof of clearance for exports is generated automatically. This means that the information from the cleared export declaration is sent electronically to a designated consignee, such as a shipping port.

Recipients of the proof of clearance

To receive the ZKB and ZKL messages, it is necessary to register for communication via EDI (TVEDI).
