Failing to pay on time

It is important to pay your customs invoice on time. If not, you may have to pay interest on the overdue payment and, in the worst-case scenario, lose your authorisation for deferment of payment.

Interest on overdue payment

If you fail to pay your customs invoice on time, Swedish Customs will send you a reminder with interest on the overdue payment.

Revocation of authorisation

If, in spite of the reminder, you fail to pay your customs invoice, Swedish Customs may revoke your authorisation for deferment of payment. Swedish Customs may also decide to revoke your authorisation if you repeatedly pay your customs invoice late.

Debt collection

If you still have not paid your customs invoice, Swedish Customs will collect your debt form any guarantee provided for the authorisation for deferment of payment. If the guarantee does not sufficiently cover your debt, we will forward your case to the Swedish Enforcement Agency.
