Moving to Sweden from another EU country

The EU is a customs union, meaning that no customs duties must be paid among the member countries. Goods crossing the borders between EU member countries do not need to be presented to Swedish Customs.

However, there are special regulations in place for certain goods, regarding environmental protection and public health and security. Examples of such goods are animals, foodstuffs, medicines and arms.
