Simplifying what is legal

The work of Swedish Customs within the process Managing the Trade starts even before a product crosses the border, when we provide information and hold courses for people wishing to import or export. We issue the permits that are required for certain goods and we perform risk analyses of the goods flow. When goods reach the frontier control point, it is our job to clear, provide transit passage and check the goods. At a later stage we can check customs declarations and make customs reviews.

Within Managing the Trade we work in several areas to simplify legitimate business:

We work closely with other authorities and private enterprise to simplify procedures associated with the customs process and make them more efficient.

We offer the option of certification to simplify customs procedures for companies.

Each year, 75 million travellers, ships, containers and vehicles cross Sweden´s frontiers. Swedish Customs works in the midst of this enormous flow of goods and people.
