Cooperation with trade

Swedish Customs cooperation in several different ways with companies and their interest organisations. An integral aspect of Swedish Customs´ various cooperation groups and of our daily operation is listening to the needs of companies with the aim of simplifying customs processing.
The Alfred Group
The purpose of this group is to generate common solutions for customs and trade issues for those working in the trade flow, while gaining a better understanding of the various parties´ requirements for addressing these matters in the best way possible. The group deals exclusively with strategic matters and comprehensive policy questions. The group is led by the Director General of Swedish Customs and consists of representatives from companies´ interest organisations, as well as the Swedish National Board of Trade and the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

The Alfred Group serves as the steering group for SAMU and SAPO.

Cooperation Group on Development, SAMU
SAMU is a cooperation group for the development of customs and trade matters with an emphasis on using IT solutions. The group consists of representatives from the development operation at Swedish Customs and representatives from enterprise in the form of a number of persons who work with customs and IT matters in various export companies and within cooperation authorities. The companies´ representatives are appointed by the enterprise organisations.

Over the next few years, much of the Swedish Customs´ change management will take place within the framework of Customs Trade System (CTS). Within CTS Swedish Customs will be working with development and change arising from eCustoms, and also with other IT and operational changes related to Managing the Trade. SAMU functions as a reference group for CTS, but the group will also have the opportunity to provide development recommendations in other areas.

Cooperation Group on Production, SAPO
In the cooperation group on production, SAPO, representatives from enterprise can pose questions concerning the Swedish Customs´ production and customer relations.

SAPO´s goal is to develop the cooperation between Swedish Customs and enterprise in matters of legal trade and customer relations. The group consists of the management for Managing the Trade, representatives from major enterprise organisations, and a number of cooperation authorities such the Swedish Tax Agency, Statistics Sweden, and the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
